The Adult Education Association of the U.S.A. (AEA-USA) wasformed in 1951 by the merger of the American Association for Adult Education (supported by the Carnegie Foundation)and the Department of Adult Education of the National Education Association. In 1982, the AEA-USA combined with theNational Association of Public School Adult Educators (NAPSAE) to become the American Association for Adult andContinuing Education (AAACE). The collection contains material from both organizations.
